We did this to see what we needed to work on for the last week to get the performance up to the best standard we can. We had our job roles and we pretty much ran through the whole this as it will go on the night of the gig, it wasn\u2019t the smoothest but that\u2019s because this is the first time being on stage for some people and we were sorting out sound throughout to save time instead of doing sound checks for everyone beforehand. My band, Band of 4 never had a rehearsal with Evan because Cody was supposed to drum for us but didn\u2019t show up for 3 weeks and when he did show up he didn\u2019t know how to play anything, so on the first song (Nirvana &#8211; about a girl), Evan was trying to play along and guess the song as he played because he was going off only his memory of hearing the songs and he didn\u2019t know the right fills of the areas of the song where he stops and starts again or even where the build up is. The second song (Queens Of The Stone Age &#8211; I Sat By The Ocean), went a bit better because Evan played this song once when Cody didn\u2019t show up so he knew it and most of the parts of the song where there are distinct drum changes. Faye was supposed to play bass for us but after she finished her set she went off somewhere and didn\u2019t come back until the final song which is both level 3 extended bands as one playing James\u2019 &#8211; Sit Down. The third song (Muse &#8211; Plug In Baby) went better than expected, we only ever had one rehearsal of it with John on drums and we never got to the end of the song in rehearsal. When we got to the part that we haven\u2019t rehearsed, my mind went completely blank and I didn\u2019t know what to play at all and then after a while of not playing anything, I tried to joint back and play something but i ended up playing the wrong notes at the wrong time and it sounded awful, and I didn\u2019t know where in the song we were because I couldn\u2019t hear anything except drums. When we first got on stage, the people at the sound desk (Cameron and Lewis) asked us what we wanted in our monitors, so we told them what we wanted in the monitors but there was nothing coming from them or if there was it was too quiet to hear anything, even when I moved to the other side of the stage for the second song in which I play guitar, I told them I wanted the other guitar and vocals in my monitor mix but yet again I didn\u2019t hear anything but I could see what Clarke was playing a little bit when I looked over so I had a easier time staying in time with everyone else and knowing what part we\u2019re on because the structure of the second chorus still confuses me. The last song was the worst, i didn\u2019t even hear myself for this song, all I could hear is the drums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The change overs need work because they are currently very very messy and need to be tightened up and me and Clarke need to sort out what we need to help the bands with between songs and on change overs. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is the mock performance where we played our set on the stage as close to the final performance as we can.
