Software

In this project we are using 2 different types of software for our musical production and compositions. We are using Ableton Live for our electronic music composition. And we are using Logic Pro X for our video game soundtrack composition.

On ableton we use a variation of electronic instruments that we experiment with and create all types of different sounds. There are effects that we can put on like distortion pedals, reverb and these create all sorts of different tones. We can also use a sampler function to take pieces or sounds out of other songs or even some samples that college has for us to use.

On Logic Pro X we use the keyboards that are connected to the Imacs in college to create our own melodies to use in our game sound compositions. When we come up with these melodies we use a pencil tool to draw it into the program and from there we can edit it or adjust the sound setting to make it sound like something from a pixelated game using 8 bit or 16 bit music like old school games.
