Introduction

Welcome to project 2.

We are doing this project to explore different aspects of music.

We are going to be hosting a radio show in co-operation with BCB radio to make our own radio show where we showcase some of our favourite music and maybe some of our own. this will work on our in-studio confidence skills, because planning to say something is always easier than actually doing it under pressure in a studio, even when you are on your own. This will also work on our presentation skills, getting your point across while sounding professional and natural is always a challenge, working on these skills can also help in realms outside of music because having good talking skills can be a good tool that can become useful in various different scenarios, for example social gatherings, job interviews and also proposals for change in your employment space.

We are also going to perform some jazz at our college in the art gallery to use the aspect of performing and improvising to show another side of the music industry. This aspect of the project will help us improve on our instruments by focusing on improvisation, where we will learn some patters and scales to play and be in key with the chords that are being played beneath, this will also unlock a knowledge of the fretboard for me and i will be able to know where certain notes are just by being told what key i am in which is a really good skill to have. Like many projects we have done in college, this one will also be on topic with performing and this will help us gain even more confidence with standing in front of a crowd and performing. This is good practice because the more you do, the more you learn, and i have found this very useful in trying to have better stage presence. I have now done a fair few gigs and i get more and more comfortable on stage in front of crowds.

We are also going to be doing some work toward applications towards university and employment. This will get us thinking about our futures and where we want to go after this final year of college. Applying for universities and jobs, will get us wondering exactly what we want to do in the realm of music, whether we want to perform or produce music and this will help us pick a better position in university or even employment. This aspect of the project will also teach us how to write a CV and have it stand out above other candidates in our next step and help the other parties make their decision on who to hire/admit into their business/university.
