Welcome to my project 3 (Studio Practice)
This project will be based around studio work. Here we will be professionally recording the songs we wrote in project 2’s songwriting sessions, also mixing them to a professional standard and doing some other mixing of other raw songs given to us by out tutors.
We will be using Logic Pro X to do our recording and mixing.
We will be using the recording studio in our college that houses a-lot of professional recording equipment. Some examples of the equipment inhabited there are; a mixing desk, an Imac with Logic Pro X, studio monitors and lots of other really good recording equipment.
SMART targets:
Target 1: Evaluation skills.
Specific; – Analysis of my work
I want to analyse my work in more detail and identify areas that i need to improve.
Measurable; By me and my examiners.
When I evaluate my work I will be able to see that I am going into detail by double checking it and reading through it thoroughly to make sure its in deeper detail.
Achievable; yes, because i need to just add more detail.
I can achieve this by adding more detail and explaining my points in deeper detail.
Realistic; yes
This is realistic because I already add more detail if i can think of it but i just need to focus more on the smaller details and explain them more.
Time-based; all of college.
I would like to constantly improve on this so i can get better grades each project.
Target 2: practical skills.
Specific; – To explore with my ideas and keep one until the end.
I have many ideas and i get very indecisive so i end up changing my mind halfway through and end up losing time in the process so i need to learn to stick to one idea and just keep expanding and improving it instead of scrapping it and starting fresh.
Measurable; by me
I can measure this by keeping my ideas and expanding all of them instead of just one.
Achievable; yes
I can focus on one idea until it’s finished and then start on the next idea.
Realistic; yes
I can do this because i have many ideas and i can integrate some of them to fit together and use 2 ideas for one song.
Time-based; for the final project.
I would like to do this in the final project because it gets very stressful when working towards the deadline and also doing all the work behind the scenes. And during this final project we don’t have time to mess about and loose time.
Target 3: research skills
Specific; – To research into what i’m doing thoroughly
I need to research in more detail and document this on here, When i’m writing a song i always wing it but i do use ideas from other artists sometimes and i need to document that.
Measurable; by me and examiners
I can see that i’m doing this when i document what ideas i used that were inspired by other artists or even something i saw in a youtube video at home.
Achievable; yes
I can achieve this by just posting the links to some videos i watch at home on here to show some things i have seen.
Realistic; yes
This is realistic because i can show what ive watched and where my inspirations come from when i’m not just doing it solo.
Time-based; all college time
I want t improve on showing my research all the time because i can get a better grade every new project so i can improve daily.
