This is my final demo of my song that i made in this songwriting project. I came up with many ideas but this is the one i went for, I went for a generic rock/new metal song, and it turned out quite well. It sort of reminds me of something “Three Days Grace” or late 1990s or early 2000s “Linking Park”. I need to come up with lyrics to mach the tempo and vibe to this song. I came up with this riff by messing about with power chords in different orders. I came up with the chord progression, Em / F# / G / A and when its played with distortion and fast down picking it sounds really funky in a way. It reminds me of the music i grew up with, mainly rock, metal and punk. I needed to come up with a verse part for it so i changed the chords up to Em / G / F# / A and then i changed up the strumming pattern to less hectic strums and it was still the rock vibe but in a way sounding calmer than the main riff ( chorus). There is also a part near the end where i play the chorus an octave higher to give it variation. I also had to come up with a bridge/build up/break down so i thought about how to do it and so i tried playing the verse but slower with even less strumming and it didn’t sound too bad. I might make slight changed before we start recording these in project 3. But over all i think this song is really good and i look foward to seeing where i can take it next project.
Next project, i will be recording this song, it will include; electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, piano and drums. I still need to write a melody line to this song and lyrics. I also need to write a piano part for it.
