Research on capacity and the cost to book these venues.

^ I researched a few venues around Bradford that are well known for taking on musical acts and events. I specifically researched the capacity to find a place that could hold my desired amount of people while also being realistic with the venues I would consider for my event. Alhambra, St. Georges Hall, Bradford Live, City Park and Peace Hall Halifax were instant no’s because i am definitely selling more than 500 tickets, not for my first event anyway. The Studio, The Underground, Bradford college B25 and 1 in 12 club were also instant no’s because these venues are too small for what I’m wanting to achieve. I am trying to make an event upwards of 300 attendees, preferably around 400 guests. There were two clear options for this event, The Lord Clyde Pub and Night-train, these two venues can facilitate 400-500 people at a time and that is exactly what i am looking for.

I also researched these venues about their hosting/booking costs, where online, i could not find an answer for any of these venues. The Underground have done a few free gigs that we have participated in as part of a college performance and also some of our own freelance events we have held there so i think this venue would be a good choice because if i say i’m doing this for college then they might wave the deposit and booking fees. Bradford college’s B25 would also be free because its right here on site and we have access to it if we need to host a college event. As i have heard from mutual friend of night-train, they dont really have a booking fee that often and tend to ask for 20% of the ticket sales, which is also not too bad. If i sell each ticket for £5 then they would get £1 from each ticket and i would get £4 which is still a decent about if it turns out to be as popular as i’m trying to make it.

This is a picture i took at The Lord Clyde Pub when i went to talk to them the first time, i went to sit in the back because i wanted to see what the space looked like up close. They have this stage thing there that could become very useful if i end up having the event here.

I also took a picture of the space that would accommodate the crowd that would attend the event. There are many tables that have chairs on them. each table holds up to 6 people per table, so there would be about 200 people sat down during the event. There is also more seating available behind where the stage would be and also much more seating inside. so in total there could be around 300 people sat down at a time
