Task 2

Analysis of microphone types

Condenser microphones are considered the most versatile recording studio microphones and can be used to record essentially any instrument. Condenser mics are more sensitive and have a wider frequency response and dynamic range. For recording quality they are better.

Condenser microphones come in two main types: small – diaphragm and large diaphragm. Small-diaphragm condenser microphones are more common and are generally used for recording instruments. They are also great for capturing the sound of vocals and acoustic guitars.

On the other hand, large-diaphragm condenser microphones work well for studio recordings. They have a higher quality sound than small diaphragm condenser microphones.

Dynamic microphones can take a lot of signal without being damaged due to their low sensitivity. These used in many live situations. They’re also really good studio mics for things like drums, brass instruments, pretty much anything that’s really loud.

A dynamic microphone is absolutely the right choice for a podcaster, and it will cut down on the room noise – but only if you’re using it right. Condensers are always more sensitive than dynamic mics, which means you’ll get a more detailed sound using a condenser microphone for podcasting.

Scripted content for podcast:

My podcast will be about daredevil, a marvel series with three seasons starring Charlie Cox. The show started in 2015 and concluded in 2018 on the third season.

  • Talk about Daredevils red suit and his new gold and red suit in she-hulk
  • His appearances in Spider-man – No way home, She-Hulk.
  • His new series ‘Daredevil : Born again’
  • His future appearance in Echo (2023), where he will meet a deaf superhero. (He’s blind so we are looking forward to how they will communicate and fight. – – Talk about how they have the same rivals, Kingpin
  • The punisher appearing in Daredevil
  • I will be using a timer on my phone to make sure that we stay on time when we are recording our voices. The timer will also be on to make sure we don’t start rambling or go off topic.

Sound design (jingles and audio editing)

My jingle will be the intro to daredevil. I’ll download the intro music from YouTube and transfer it over to my computer so i can easily put it onto garage band. With my podcast and intro on my desktop i can easily edit and change things around if i want.

Garage band will be used to edit my podcast and i will import it from my desktop and change the quality. I will change the quality by changing the compression and EQ. Putting the sound at 4k will also change the way my podcast sounds.

Subject research

Daredevil is an American show released in 2015 and later went on to have a full three seasons. The show ended in 2018 and got more recognition when the character Daredevil was rumoured to make a return in Spiderman – no way home. People started to watch the Netflix originals, Daredevil, The punisher and the defenders. when Spiderman came out and daredevil made an appearance, thousands of new fans watched his show and Charlie Cox (who plays Daredevil), was brought back and returned to the new Disney plus show she-hulk. All of this information is from wikipedia and from interviews done by BBC radio.

Since he and the defenders got more recognition the shows were taken off of Netflix and the rights went back to Disney, so fans can now watch all of these originals on Disney plus. Daredevil returned in she-hulk and we got his announcement that he would return again in his own show. Charlie tells us they are writing a script but he is now focussed on the new echo series that will be out next year. I got lots of this information from articles by GQ and variety. Their articles are very useful for information about new series and films.

My screen recorded intro

After it was exported from garage band. I imported it to adobe after effects and there i put in the intro and outro jingle. The intro was easily added because i had screen recorded from my phone and airdropped it to my computer so it was a lot easier to import and edit.

The volume was put up so our voices were more clear and louder for people to hear. The controls and EQ were changed as you can see below and my podcast was ready to export. I exported it onto media encoder and managed to put it on you tube, unlisted.

I have removed the sub frequencies to 20-100 Hz. The human voice doesn’t go below 100Hz. Boosted the lower frequencies to make it sound fuller. I have also boosted the mid range frequencies to make it sound clearer. I applied the hue just to the voice so it wouldn’t sound as full.
