My band started at 34:20.For the performance I was singing for the first two songs. Our band consisted of we had one guitarist, one bassist, two keyboard players and three singers. We all worked extremely hard on this project to make sure we were the best we could possibly be.
the group dynamics were overall very positive, everyone worked together in a constructive way that benefitted everyone in the group. We helped each other with our own individual parts in the band just so everything could be the best it could for the performance.
I thought the microphones could’ve been mixed better as one was louder than the other two but other than that everything else was fine with the keyboards, guitar, bass, and drums all sounding quite good. The lighting was quite good and fitted the performance really well. With the bright green lights suiting the genre of music we were playing.
The first and third songs tempo was quite good, with everyone knowing they’re parts and coming in on the right time, the guitar sounded good and matched well with the drums, the keyboard and bass was in time with the rest of the instruments and each singer sounding great for the first and third song.
However, I thought the tempo was a bit too quick with the second song but this wasn’t very noticeable could have been more audience interaction whilst transitioning as there isn’t much communication between the band and the audience.Stage presence could’ve been a bit better with not much movement during each song or much interaction with the audience.
Despite everything that went wrong with the tempo of the second song and forgetting the break-down towards the end of the second song, the audience responded quite well too the performance, clapping and cheering after every song,That definitely helped with the groups confidence as the performance went on.
Everything we planned in rehearsal happened during our performance except for a soft breakdown during the third verse of the second song. However, this was only a small problem and the performance carried on anyway without the audience noticing too much.
We could have spent more time practicing the second song as we were a bit unprepared for it.We could have planned out our practicing a bit more than we did just so we made sure we got everything under control for the second such as spending more time on the soft breakdown and making sure the second song was perfect before we played. Also people were late which did really effect our progress during rehearsal and wasn’t very helpful for work.
I have learned to be more confident as a performer as it creates more energy in the crowd,I also learned that it is important to have a good stage presence otherwise it will make the performance seem dull and interesting.
The venue and audience were perfect for the performance because the audience was family and friends, as this is my second ever live performance that created less pressure than a bigger venue with complete strangers watching,The speakers could have been further away from the front row though as that could’ve damaged some of the audience.
In conclusion I think the performance achieved its intended goals as the audience was very entertained, all the bands worked very hard on their projects and definitely gained confidence through the project,I think my band did better than expected and everyone greatly improved they’re performance skills as a result.
