Final Performance
The event
On the 17th of October our group performed the songs Song2 by Blur and Feel Good Inc by Gorillaz.The venue was in the Lister building as seen in all three videos.The Mock performance was in front of the other groups, the Dress rehearsal was in front of 50 students and the Final performance in front of over 100 people.I played the guitar and our performance lasted almost 6 minutes
Band assessment
We were fully prepared for the event and practice efficiently all of our instruments were in tune
Most of us looked comfortable to be there but we could have looked more confident, we engage with the Audience with clapping through the chorus we didn’t interact with each other and focused on our own parts of the song
At the start, the guitar was a bit out of time in Song 2 but quickly recovered and maintained tempo through the rest of the show.Apart from the beginning we stayed in sync with each other.
We hit all the right notes and chords with our instruments and were very proficient with our instruments.There was an error at the start of the live performance with the amps but that was quickly resolved before we began.
We could have added more personal touches to the songs we performed but I believe we conveyed the emotions of the songs when performing.
I believe we connected with the audience emotionally while performing and communicated the feeling of the songs,I will admit we could have been more expressive while performing.
Self-assessment
I was well prepared for the event and rehearsed very often making sure my guitar was in tune before going on stage.I could have been more confident but was comfortable on stage while performing.Other than the beginning,I kept in time with the songs including starting and stopping during the parts where I was not needed.I believe I was proficient with my instrument and stayed in sync with the vocals, drums and bass while hitting all of the right notes and chords.I believe I connected with the audience while performing and communicating the feeling of the song however I didn’t maintain good eye contact while performing.
Overall Impressions
Overall I did extremely well while performing and transitioning from one song to the next.I also did well with timing and rhythm and technical skill.
I believe I could improve with confidence and communicating to the audience as I didn’t maintain great eye contact.
