Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
This week I will be recording the music for my first song,This song will focus more on finger picking than actual chords,This may be more complicated to explain and something new since I haven’t played many songs with finger picking.

here is the first chord progression for my first song, again it is less like playing chords and more like finger picking notes on different frets.

This is the recording for my first song where I recorded it on BandLab,I decided to make it an instrumental since I think that it is a good way for people to get into the EP.
For my song I recorded the guitar myself and found the main drum beat on BandLab but created the small section of drums at the end using a drum Machine. For the guitar I added distortion with a tweed amp to give the song more depth.
Week 4
This week I have had more time to work on my lyrics for the next two songs.
I began writing another song and I had more time to work on lyrics for both.
I am struggling a bit with lyrics and having a hard time thinking of many lyrics, to overcome this I have spent more time writing each day until I am satisfied with the end result.
Next week I will be recording my second song which shouldn’t be a problem if the recording process is quick and simple.
I have discovered quickly it takes me to write the actual music but with lyrics it is not the same easy process, as I care a lot more about what I’m saying.
I should be fine with time and I will be able to get better lyrics for my songs.
I feel pretty confident about my work.
Week 5
This week I will be recording the music for my second song, since my last song didn’t have lyrics I have had more time to think and therefore more time to write better songs.

I was unable to record the whole song this week, however next week I should be able to record the whole song all at once, this leaves me with a lot of work to do but this is easily fixable and will be done by next week.
Week 6
This week I will be completely my second song instrumental and hopefully it’s lyrics although I am still having some trouble with them. If I can’t get anything down I might have to do them at the end of the project.

Here is the chord progression for my second song, something about the chords being so simple make them so effective.

This week I was able to fully record my second song,I recorded the guitar myself and used a drum sample for a little ambient noise in the background,I also used maracas for the chorus.I will be adding lyrics soon. For the guitar I added distortion with a tweed amp to give the song a better sound.
Week 7
This week I will be recording the lyrics to my second song,I want the lyrics to almost combat the songs joyful feel. This may be difficult as I haven’t written lyrics in a very long time but I’m sure this will not be that big of a problem.

These are the lyrics to my second song, I wanted a lyrics that match perfectly with the song and structure,I feel that I have done that very well

I have added the lyrics to my song,I decided to add effects to give the vocals more depth by adding reverb and echo effects which goes very well with the distorted guitar.
Week 8
This week I will be recording the music for my third and final song. For the song I will be using a guitar and possibly drums, there has been some problems with the room I will use to record

This is the chord progression for my third and final song,I have been struggling with writing songs, however I created this very simple chord progression that I think work very well with the write strumming pattern.

This week I have recorded the instruments for my third and final song, again There was some trouble with the room and computers I use to record so I had to record off my phone, Therefore the audio might be a bit off,I recorded the guitar myself and had some help recording drums.
Week 9
This week I will be recording the vocals for my third and final song,I’m am feeling very confident about completing this project and I’m very happy with how this project turned out.

I have recorded my vocals and finished recording my third and final song, I also decided to re-record the drums using a better microphone.

This was the microphone I used for the drum is called a condenser mic which provides a better sound than a dynamic mic.

These are the lyrics to my third and final song for the final song I wanted to make more of a story than a song so I created two different choruses. One chorus would play throughout most of the song to show the listener what is happening in this persons life. However, the second chorus gives more of a happy ending to the song with this person finally accepting the situation and being happy where they are.
