In Project 1, we dedicated ourselves to intensive rehearsals, preparing for a live gig. These sessions not only sharpened our technical abilities—such as setting up amps, cables, and microphones—but also strengthened our band dynamics. We learned how to listen deeply to one another, stay in time, and adjust when instruments were missing—a crucial problem-solving skill we carried forward. Project 2 took us further into community music, as we performed live at a nursing home. This experience was profound—it allowed me to engage with an audience in a personal way, fostering a deeper sense of connection and purpose. While Project 1 gave me confidence in promoting and organizing, Project 2 taught me how to truly connect and share music with purpose. Then, in Project 3, I ventured into scriptwriting for a podcast. At first, it was daunting—we brainstormed ideas, collaborated intensely, and rehearsed our script together. Despite the challenges, the process honed my creative thinking, adaptability, and research skills. Looking back, each project built on the last, preparing me to thrive in both performance and creative expression.

The first way I will allocate my time for this project is by researching more about how to promote and learn from professional social media promoters so that I can make the event at the end of the college year as smooth and as packed as I possibly can. the second way I will use my time is by leading my band by coordinating them through tricky songs to prepare them for the performance. The third way I will allocate my time is by recording my progress via filming my solo practice and reviewing my mistakes or accomplishments.

The problems I am likely to encounter during my project revolve around assembling the right band members. I would love to play with Kieran, possibly Rhys, and definitely Lewis and Oliver. However, if that doesn’t work out, I can adapt. For example, I could stay with Niall, Ellie, and Jasmine, with Caelin playing bass in another band Im in.. A key example of my problem-solving was in Project 2. When we performed “Vehicle” by the Ides of March, it had a trumpet part we didn’t have, so Niall played it on the keyboard synth, and it worked perfectly. Similarly, in “Rocket Man” by Elton John, we used a guitar pedal to create a rising effect—improvising when needed allowed us to succeed. another problem I am likely to encounter during my project is having band members not wanting to play some songs due to their specific style. I will work around this by either changing the songs we plan on playing or encouraging them to try a new genre/style.

Over the next couple of weeks, as we prepare for the upcoming event, I will focus on all aspects of production related to promotion. I’ll be creating posters and designing the promotional materials. While I lead the promotion, other team members will handle lighting, sound, and event management. This way, I can ensure the promotion is organized and effective, just like I did in Project 1.

My practical skills center on sound equipment setup—I know how to mic amplifiers, speakers, and mix music. While I’m still learning lighting, this project will help me develop that skill. I’m also experienced in rehearsal coordination—I organize practice, ensuring we stay in time by using a metronome and adjusting movements. I’m quick to adapt—if a chord changes or something shifts, I adjust easily, keeping everything flowing smoothly.

I am going to be using my social media skills to promote <finish with chgpt>

reading tabs <are they going to be used?>

guitar playing

I will be creating short form video promotion

To evaluate my project, I will maintain a project journal to record key decisions and shifts in my vision, as I anticipate some bumps along the way. I’ll review progress at set milestones, comparing outcomes to my original aims, allowing flexibility if things don’t go as planned. If a band collaboration falters, I’ll analyze why, and adapt future approaches. I’ll also ensure constant, clear communication with my band to avoid distractions, stay on track, and refine what works best.

Over the course of my last three projects, I’ve cultivated a range of valuable skills that have shaped my growth as a performer and collaborator.
