It sounded a bit flat because my distortion was too low, so my guitar just ended up sounding weak. That was on me—I should have adjusted it beforehand. The first song we played was “Some” by Steve Lacy. It sounded okay, but Sukbhir’s bass wasn’t quite in tune—it was a bit flat, so when I started playing guitar and Jacob was singing, you could hear that dissonance. Since my guitar was perfectly tuned, it stood out. We still did okay, but because the song didn’t rely on distortion, you couldn’t really hear my guitar shine, and it didn’t add that spark. After that, we performed “Hysteria” by Muse. This went really well—I played it perfectly, and Niall was spot on with his drumming. We had great dynamics in that song—Jacob’s vocals were exceptional, probably his best of the night. In fact, I think we all played exceptionally well that track—there was a tight connection, even though Sukbhir was still a bit off with timing compared to other rehearsals. I’m really proud of him because he’s been wanting to play this live for a long time, and he overcame that challenge. Our timing was really tight as a band, and the whole night just felt really solid. After that, we did a cover of “Careless Whisper” by Seether, which was a metal version of the original. That one also went pretty well, but I did have a slip—I swapped in my seven-string for that song, and the G string was a bit out of tune. I had to quickly tune it mid-song after a rough note, but I don’t think the crowd really noticed, and I corrected it pretty fast. Aside from that, I played all the parts as intended, and the band was really tight. Dynamics were excellent, especially at the end when Lewis went all out on the drums after that breakdown. That pause really built anticipation, and overall, it was a fantastic moment that got the crowd going. So yeah, it was a great night, and I’m really happy with how we performed, despite a few technical hiccups.

Jaheim Paul – Project 1Download

Say it aint so: for my dress rehearsal we performed say it aint so by Weezer which went pretty alright for our first and last time playing it without rehearsing it at all.
