This was our first rehearsal together with the band. The song that we are rehearsing is Song 2 by Blur. i think that it was okay for a first rehearsal as we all had to learn the lyrics, chords and perform it all in time with one another
This was our second rehearsal with the band all together. I think my vocals sounded greater this time although the mic was still really quiet and I couldn’t be heard on the chorus.
things that need to improve: i think that
Kieran needs to improve his timings on the guitar as he is almost always off-beat during the song
I think Serena needs to improve her vocals on the high parts of the song as it doesn’t sound like she is singing it but rather shouting the lyrics
Sam is getting better on the bass guitar as he is normally a guitarist but there is still more room for improvement.
Right so these rehearsal are the only ones that I can really reflect back on for myself as my vocals are actually loud enough to hear.
my vocals were actually pretty good in this rehearsal compared to my last one. especially on feel good because it is a much calmer song to sing.
I was able to flow along well with the beat by zoning in on the drums alone as they are what everyone should be listening to when playing they’re instruments.
These were our first rehearsal in the live space. We rehearsed in front of level 2 and 3. Again I was sick so I couldn’t sing properly and it sounds really bad compared to what I normally sound like.
I will add that the tempo of this song on the rehearsal was a lot slower than usual and needs to be improved.
Kieran(the guitarist) needs to improve his timings for the song and start on the 2/8th beat of the bar.
Rehearsal 4
This was a weird rehearsal due to serena not being in to do her vocals plus i was sick and straining my voice really hard to put out some decent vocals
I think everyone played well in this rehearsal except from me that day
this was our last rehearsal in the live rooms and I was really sick so my vocals were off key and stuffy at most times.
the band played really well in my opinion besides Kieran being slightly behind still on song 2.
I think that i am ready for the performance at this point but I still worry that the rest of the band will play good together on the night of the performance/ Exam.
I think us as a band did well for our final performances. I did my part as the singer and rapper as I entertained the crowd and included them by making them clap.
there were some mistakes throughout the performance such as Kieran out of time on the guitar at times and Serena (the second vocalist) clapping out of time in the chorus which i can’t quite get my head around but other than that it was a great performance.
I think the 2nd verse rap went well with me including singing in small parts to make it sound even better and walking around the stage to make the audience feel shocked worked in our favor
