This is just a small rundown of what my release strategy will be for the last few weeks of the project. I need to make sure I have a good strategy set in stone for me to achieve the best results after its release. This is what my five-step release strategy is going to look like.
STEP 1- FINISH THE TRACK
This I have already done. I have already produced, mixed and mastered my track to a good standard. I am 100% confident that this is my best work yet, and I believe this track can do really well. I have listened to the track on many different sources, my phone, wireless earphones, wired earphones, studio monitors, TV speakers and a car stereo system. The sound is consisted amongst all of these which left me feeling very confident about the job I have done. IT is not good having a track that sounds good on one thing, but nothing else. This step of the process is complete and I can move on too step two.
STEP 2- GET THIS TRACK INFRONT OF PEOPLE
This is a long shot, but I am going to send this track out to record labels and DJ’s. I am not expecting to hear anything back as I am a small artist. However, there is no harm in trying, and you never know what might happen. So far, I have sent this track out to TRICK Records, SOLOTOKO and Toolroom. As I have said, I am not expecting to hear anything back, but you wont get anywhere if you don’t try.
STEP 3- ARTWORK AND PROMO MATERIAL
So far, I have already made the artwork for the release of the track. The artwork fits perfectly with the tracks vibe and carries all of the emotion that is displayed in the song. I am now moving on to creating a short promo video for the track that will be put on social media prior to its release. I need to get this finished so I can have the track out by the end of the week.
STEP 4- RELEASE
This is the point where I will release the track on all of my desired streaming platforms. After this, the project is no longer in my hands. I am expecting a great reception from this track and I hope it lives up to its expectation. I would like to think that the track will wrack up a couple of thousand streams across the streaming platforms.
STEP 5- PROMOTE
For the last weeks of the project, I will spend all of my time promoting the track on all of my social medias, trying to get it in front of as many people as I can. I may even put some money towards a promotional campaign to boost the presence of the track. Promoting a track is a fine line. You have to be consistent and relentless with your posting, but you also have to be careful that you are not shoving the track down peoples throat. If you do this, people will start to get fed up, and you may even lose some followers/listeners.
If I do all of this successfully, then I am confident I will have a great release. Things may not always go to plan. However, I will overcome and adapt to the situation and try something new. I want this track to do well.
