After a-lot of hard work, my track has finally been finished and released. I have had a great reception to the track thus far, even though it was only released 3 days ago. The track was released on the 12/05/23 at 18:00 on all streaming platforms. Since the release, the track has picked up over 3,000 listens across the streaming platforms. I couldn’t be happier with the final result.
The track perfectly showcases what I have learnt so far on this course. This track required sound design, good structural ability and creativity. These are all skills I have improved on since starting this course. I believe this track shows a good knowledge of music production, and what is required to create a professional sounding track.
If i could do this all over again, i would focus more on the mix. Mixing has never been my strong point, and probably never will, but that doesn’t mean i cannot get better and improve my final mixes. I believe the mix could have been a little more clean, but for someone who only started a couple of years ago, i don’t think this is a bad attempt. I also could have added more variation to the drum pattern, but again, these are all nit-picking bits that i can correct on my next track.
This track has been a joy to work on, and people have found it a joy to listen to. The promo material has seemed to work a treat by pushing my track out to the public. This is not only family and friends listening, but people I have never met. I always expected a pretty good reaction when this track was released, but never to this extent.
