Bingley Music Town

Bingley music town is an organization that solely focus’ on bringing people in the area together to create, play or share music. There is so much going on around the area, but how can we consolidate all of this to create a solid base for other events, groups or musicians to flourish?

People have been meeting, planning and plotting to turn this organization into something influential, for not only the area, but also the surrounding areas. BMT was created for the bradford 2025 scheme. This scheme offers funding for all cultural aspects in the city. It’s job is to up lift, and rejuvenate bradford into somewhere people are happy to visit. BMT are hoping to get involved and make something happen for their area. “Our aim is to make Bingley a place where music is celebrated and valued as an asset that sustains our health, our wellbeing, and our economy.“.

BMT already have a strong foundation to be able to help their area. They hold regular meetings where people of the community can come and state their concerns/ideas. Bingley is a vibrant place and already has so much going on, it just needs elevating. Here is a list of venues already in Bingley that display Live music:

    • ‘buskers’ open mic night 2nd Sunday of the month.

    • Live music Friday/Saturday followed by a DJ
  • The Acorn Inn (Eldwick)
  • The Peacock Bar
    • Open Mic on Tuesdays (fortnightly)
  • The New Inn (Wilsden)
  • Chip n Ern
    •  Wednesday evening, fiddlers, banjo and mandolin players just jamming away
  • The Busfield Arms
  • Flappit (near Haworth) weekly open mic
  • Bingley Theater
  • All Saints Church

During this project, we will be working very closely with BMT, identifying their strengths and weaknesses. THis is an important step for them to be able to continue their strive for change. It just needs to happen the right way and at the right time.
