On this page I will display the promotional material I have made for my track. I have put a lot of time and thought into getting this right, so it perfectly portrays the emotion that my song carries. I think that I have done a pretty good job, and it would not look out of place next to artwork done by professionals.
I took inspiration from the three album covers that I posted on my ‘Artwork Inspirations’ page. This track sounds like something from the 90’s, so I wanted the album cover to have the same vibe. The colours really pop while also having a dark undertone. This creates contrast, just as there is a contrast of emotion within the song. The two people on the cover mimic the feeling of ‘Falling back in love’ that is portrayed in the lyrics of the song. I thought it was extremely important for the artwork and the songs lyrics to have a strong correlation. This only creates a better understanding and listening experience for the audience. The artwork also shows who made the song (me) and the name of the track. All in all, I think that this is a successful piece of artwork.
I wanted this video to go along with the theme of the lyrics. The psychedelic visuals and blurry writing really buy into that effect. The effect that you are on drugs. This is important as the lyrics are about someone who finds the excitement and comfort in going out and taking MDMA (The loved-up drug). This is why I have added the pupil dilating at the end, as that is a very common side-affect of the usage of this drug. The bright colours make the video extremely eye-catching and exciting to watch. This is just a taster for what’s to come. I think this is a great piece of promo-material and I am excited to get the track out.
