Here is my final project evaluation. I will talk about what I found easy and what I struggled with during this project. This by far has been the most challenging project, and the work load has been a lot. However, I did manage to stay on top of all of it and get it done. This is not the project I have enjoyed the most, but sometimes you have to do things you don’t necessarily like.
My Targets:
- My first target was to use Harvard referencing during my work. I am still not entirely sure what Harvard referencing is, but I have referenced all of the sources I have used while doing research. I will learn more about Harvard Referencing in the final project, but for the time being I think this is sufficient. I have referenced all of the sources i have used to make sure all of my work is gradable.
- My second target was to learn more about the job roles in the music industry, and I think I have done this to a high level. I have talked about the different jobs you will find in a recording studio as well as talking about the people that deal with your track after the production process. I have researched these job roles in full and gave detailed explanations as to what involvement the have in the process of writing and releasing music. I believe I have done this to a high standard.
- My last target was to evaluate in more detail, and I think I have done a very good job at that. Looking back at my final song evaluation, I have give a completely non bias evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the track. I think if you matched the evaluation to the track you would agree. It is very specific and I have talked about all aspects of the song. I have given examples of not only what I have done well and what I could improve on, but also what the rest of the band could do too.
I want to be a producer. I would like to make my own songs but also produce for other people. This project has taught me what I need to know when recording in a studio. I now know the basics of recording and I am confident that I could record a song for somebody else. I would like to have another go at this as I think it is good practice for the future. The more time I spend in a studio the better I will get.
I enjoyed a lot of aspects of this project, but then I also struggled with some as well. I really enjoyed recording other people in the studio, I love working with people so this was a given. I am glad I got the opportunity to do this and I think it will help me in the long run. I didn’t so much enjoy the performance side. I didn’t entirely like performing in the studio as it was quite a high pressure environment. I am not the best at my instrument as it is so this was a struggle. I may complain about this, but I probably would do it again if I was given the opportunity.
Overall, I think this project has been a success, and I am very happy with how my work has turned out. I am exited to see what is next on the course and focus on my own compositions. I am happy with the knowledge I have acquired in this project and I think it will help me in the future.
