Aims and Objectives

Aims: My aim for this project is to produce, mix, master, promote and market my own House single. I would like the track to have over 1,000 streams by the end of it’s first week of release. I feel like this would label the single as relitavley “successful” for an artist of my size. I would like the track to be either played out live by other artists, or at the very least, downloaded. Ideally, I would have the track picked up by a label. However, I have no control over if this track gets picked up or not. These aims are subject to change. Once it is released into the world it is out of my control. It is all down to how listeners interpretate it. It may be liked or it may not be. But I will change my promotion and marketing methods accordingly to try complete these aims.

Objectives:

  • Produce a single.
  • Master the track myself.
  • Master the track myself, or with help of a proffesional.
  • Promote the track on my own social medias.
  • Use personal funds to pay for needed tools, such as subscriptions and plugins.
  • Send the track out to artists on appropriate platforms.
  • Monetize the track.
  • Research how and why the genre has changes.
  • Research famous producers within the industry.
  • Create my own artwork for the single.
  • Research what streaming platforms pay for streams.
  • Release the track on all streaming platforms.
  • Reflect and evaluate the track.

This is a brief overview on my objectives for this project. I believe I cover a wide range. I am extremely excited to research some of the more unknown parts of creating and releasing music. I feel like this is all relevant information, and can help you when marketing a single. Throughout the project, I aim to link everything back to the industry. What place does this single have, and why was it released in the first place. I believe context is the most important element, and can be the decisive factor of whether this project is successful. Why have i actually chosen to do this, and how does it differ from the millions of tracks being released everyday? I aim to explain all of this and more.
