Costuming
While we were planning the camera angle’s and blocking each scene of the episode, we also re-watched the episode and watched closely to each character so we could get an idea of the characters fashion and represented their outfits as much as we could with our own clothes. We tried to stay true characters so it was easy to spot who we each played but also to recreate the episode as much as possible. While the costume we wore may not have fit entirely with the episode, we made sure it fit within their wardrobe.
Monica (Nika)- Grey sweatpants with a white knit jumper.
Joey (Beetle)- Black turtleneck with jeans.
Chandler ( me)- Green plaid shirt, black shirt and blue jeans.
Pheobe (Aliyah)- Floral dress with leggings.
Ross ( Jack)- Black shirt with a polo shirt on top, black trousers.
Rachel ( Skye)- A wedding dress.
Since we are the production team for the other Friends group, we would work closely with them when it came to planning the production element of this project of this project. We would often share our ideas so we knew how each group envisioned our pieces being filmed. They also discussed costuming with us so we could share ideas about how to style our characters.
Monica ( Sophie)- Black shirts and shorts.
Joey (Lucas)- Black sweatpants and a grey top.
Chandler ( Hollie)- Oversized plaid shirt and blue jeans.
Pheobe ( Rose)- Purple dress.
Ross ( Anthony)- Smart suit.
Rachel ( Keira)- Black shirt and skirt.
Filming
When it came to filming the group, Beetle, Jack and Aliyah were on the cameras while me, Nika and Skye were in the other booth directing and switching between the different camera angles. I was directing the group on when to start and stop each scene which was quite fun as being a director is a job in the industry that I used to be extremely interested in and learning about how the behind the scenes works when it comes to filming a show was really interesting. It was also extremely difficult when it came to directing the camera’s and having to retake some scenes a few times because the camera wasn’t recording, the angles weren’t right or someone forgot their line. It was a very slow process. of going through each scene and making sure not only us as directors but the actors were happy with each scene.
