Jazz research: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The origins of jazz: <\/strong>The jazz style evolved out of a mixture of African and European vocal materials developed by slaves in the United States in the 1700s and 1800s E.G unaccompanied field hollers singing (Probably humming) work songs associated with the changed social conditions of Blacks.<\/strong> And is also a mixture blues, ragtime, European harmony, African rhythmic rituals, spirituals, hymns, marches, vaudeville song, and dance music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why is it deemed so difficult: Jazz is considered difficult to play because it heavily relies on improvisation, requiring a deep understanding of music theory, scales, chord progressions, and the ability to create melodic lines on the spot, all while maintaining a rhythmic feel, which is a skill that takes years to develop and refine through dedicated practice and listening to the genre extensively; unlike many other styles where you primarily follow written music, jazz demands a strong musical ear and the capacity to think creatively in the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
