Mock performance rehearsal evaluation

About a Girl – Nirvana:

What went well: The intro was really good because we were all in time and the rest of the band joined in on time for when the verse started. The chorus was the same too and leaving my overdrive pedal left off until the start of the solo really made that solo more dynamic and stand out. And to say Lacey is singing a really deep song for a female vocal it sounds natural to the song, and to say Lukas doesn’t play bass he’s doing a good job being on time and giving it a bit of rhythm. And Evan is almost flawless and hits the drum kit with energy and uses the cymbals really dynamically.

What didn’t go as well: Lacey forgot the lyrics just before the 1st chorus and I was accidentally paying the wrong fret around “I’ll see you every night” because I couldn’t see or hear very well what I was playing and also haven’t practiced it that much. And

What to do better next time:

Overall evaluation: I thought over all the performance was not bad but not good, both of the songs where rushed which was my fault for the Plug in baby and the drummers fault for I sat by the ocean as he counted everyone in. I wish the vocals were sung with a bit more dynamics and passion and I can’t tell if its the crappy mic quality but my tones sound completely different compared to what I heard in person, they all just sound too bright. But overall we had no major mess-ups accept the vocal solo for the muse song and my last guitar slide part for the 1st song. and that I’m talking about are just minor things that would make the performance good if corrected. The vocalist could do with not reacting to mess-ups and addressing them to the crowd too .
