P1 Final live Performance and Evaluation

Dress rehersal: Here we performed Use somebody by kings of leon, Get lucky by daft punk and Vallerie by Amy winehouse. Looking at the whole performance,we had a nice stage performance but it could of used with some more energy and just some more speech between the songs as most of the time we were just stood there with minimal crowd engagement and wasnt very engaging so that would be an improvement to add. But for what we did well, in my opinion we had a really tight sound with all the correct tones for each song. We also got set up with minnimal faffing/noddling, i do think we could helped our set with setting up quicker though, as it was a tad long.

Final performance: Same as the dress rehersal we performed Use somebody – Kings of leon, Get lucky – Daft punk and Vallierie by Amy Winehouse infront of a live audience of 150 people! This time we got set up way way quicker which had a massive effect on our performance as it presented that we knew exactly what we was doing. Watching the last performance i noticed instantly that the sound, structure and energy of the songs sounded better than the dress rehersal. Also the speech between the song takes had way more of a genuine tone and more words between them aswell which made the takes seem less slugish and well.. boring. Personaly i thought this was acctualy our best performance, if i was to improve it though i would still say the band energy could be ramped up a bit (maybe some individual speeches so the crowd can get to know/ connect to the band better) and the performace of get lucky could of used some more dynamics as it was a bit to repetitive.

Whole Performance Evaluation

Stage presentation: Id like to say that our presentation was quite mininal, with not much crowd engagement and minimal band movements, we all also wore differnt clothes rather than us all wearing similar things that would boost our performance and give our band a style and look. But we did improve a lot on our on stage setting up time and getting on stage and setting up time, but i do think we could of spared some time between songs to engage the crowd more. Although we did engage with the crowd and kind of introduce ourselfes Watch 36:35 of the video to see, the singer should of spent more time to see what we could do to talk to the audience more.

Effectiveness of sound on stage: I think that our sound was spot on with all the songs having each individual sound they that they all each needed. Which definetly gave an effect that we had a tight sounds as a band and performers.

Review of lighting in room: For the song Vallerie i definetly thought the lights suited the song well and the crowd more emotion for the song.

Were solos loud enough? Though this wasnt my part, in person i didnt hear the solo that loud, but on the recording you could hear it fine, maybe a little too quiet which would be both the guitarists fault and the engineers fault as they both should of communicated more.

Successfulness of the initial count-ins from the drummer and vocalist: In this performance everything was successful in this department and on time.

Personal musicianship: Id like to say that i performed very well in this specific show, showing somw feel and technique in songs vallerie and get lucky.

Did I communicate with others on stage to help with the song’s form and structure? No i did not, i knew all my parts and where all the structures and breakdowns/dynamcis where.

Was my own playing (style and tone) differnt to the song? Folk / Rock: In my opinion i was just playing exactly to the origonals as the band wasnt very open to changing parts of the songs
