When researching my character and the play as a whole a big help was the QNA with the author this allowed me to see how the character of Rumplestiltskin was written and what the author was thinking when he added him into the script and how he wanted the character to react to the different situations and what he wanted the character to contribute.
Rumplestiltskin
Rumplestiltskin is a German fairy tale who was pinned to a wheel and was told to spin gold from thread and was punished if he refused or failed. the grim brothers published the character in 1812 with the original title of “Rumpelstilzchen”. In the play the character is used to explain the story to both the audience and the main characters this is because he is know for being in different fairy tales and messing with them due to his mischievous nature. he talks to different characters in different ways as he knows the princesses more he is nicer to them however he is more crude when talking to “Will” and “Carly”.
