Dairyroom:
The Dairyroom consists in 3 girls that started a channel 2 years ago called dairy room. the newest video has completely changed and improved over the years . The diary room has a fan base of 173k subscribers.
This video shows the first ever video they have uploaded and as you can see they are producing a podcast and the first appearance of the video is not as interesting and it does not catch the audiences eyes and will not click at it. The video was uploaded completely raw and has no editing or any type of background music or cuts in the video to make it shorter. Also the topic and context in the video is all jumbled up with different other topics and does not match up. In the other hand what makes you watch it till the end is their sense of humor and personality and thats what I love about them. Moreover the views it got after over 2years it only has around 40k views .
This is the most popular video and they got 766k views in only less than 2weeks ago. The differences from their first ever video in appearance and context has improved. For first impressions of the video they added their faces and what the video is about. Moreover they include you in the game which makes it more interesting and intense.
Larray:
Larray started youtube doing solo videos since 8years ago and while growing his platform he has been recently doing collaborations with other famous YouTubers. Larray has a fan base of 9.15M subscribers.
this is the first video he uploaded and has reached 1million views in 8years. The context and first impressions catches the female audience most. Moreover he has plenty of editing and cuts to not make the video long. And his editing has a funny side since he adds memes he relates to at times which makes the audience entertained.
This is the most popular video he has. It’s a music video featured with 2 other people and has reached 106M views in over 3years. This also attracts the female audience. And it has gone viral with the help of the featured people since they’re very famous and popular in social media when the video was published.
Betasquad:
beta squad has over 8M subscribers. I really like this team of 5 people because they are hilarious and have a sense of humor adults would understand too which makes the target audience for any age.
the first impression of beta squads intro presents every member in the video but they have no context in the video. also what they all have on their pjs having noodlees and a luxury car behind them. In approximately 4years they have gained 1.3M views.
This video it is their most popular video in 1 year they have achieved a total of 30Million views. Which is a big improvement and a big amount of views in 1 year.
pre-production:
For this project of making a Youtube video I was able to came up with an idea with the help of maya. The title we made up at the moment is “day in my life college” . We want to do a vlog of what we do in college from the morning all the way to the end of college (9.30am-4.30pm) including what we doing at break/lunch time which we will show what we planned to and the activities we do in our free time.
This is a board I planned with different of pictures of the ideas I have for my youtube video. Most of the images include a person blogging themselves and the rest is images of games and people playing online games. And lastly theres an image with someone doing homework or research.
So my first idea of the video is blogging a day in my life and I will vlog in my way to college and recording when I am doing work in the classroom with my classmates and going out on breaks and lunch time and at thee end of the day I will have maya or someone to join me in playing an online game.
LOGO:
The name of my channel will be ASY is short for my name Asia and it is catchy and easy to remember, I could have used my whole name but it just looks and sounds boring. I created a logo with the same font and in a circle because the profile picture will be in a circle form. I started with a navy blue colour but I lost that image, then I created a grey and black colour which are my favourite colours and they are neutral and this colours goes well with anything. For the letters I used autography font and used white and copied it and coloured it black and brought the first copy forward and it with the black and it forms a shadow.
I was playing aroung with different fuctions in adobe illustrator and I found out how to make wrap text in different variations and I have created different sizes and shapes including different colours I like and used my name logo. I really liked this type of logos but prefer to use the first ones I made ad save the recent ones for another time.
To increase the amount of views or the amount of subscriber’s I have in my youtube channel theres couple of ways to achieve that. First by posting links of the youtube video up on different social media platforms for example I could use instagram, TikTok, facebook, twitter. etc. And also creating content on this platforms. Another way is to make some posters, but with this method there wont be as many people that will stop and take a look at the poster and most will just walk past it. Also making collaborations with other people with bigger platforms could help because they have different other people in their channel. Making social media adverts is as similar as making posters but by making adverts will be more watched because nowadays everyone uses the internet for everything. I have seen some big content creators that uses Publicity stunts, publicity stunts are planned events designed to attract the peoples attention. Lastly the method of viral marketing should be the easiest and most efficient. It consists of the video getting shared rapidly by the public rather than just its target audience.
Thumbnails:
After looking at my favourites youtuber’s I realised every viral video they have has thumbnails that stand out and attract the audience. So I have thought of creating couple of thumbnails with the different colours, fonts and images.
For the imagine I used adobe illustrator. I chose couple different images from different angles and times of the Bradford college building. I chose one with a clear view of the whole building. I wanted to remove the sky, some side buildings and people in background of the building so I used ‘pen’ in illustrator to cut out the shape of the building .
This is a mind map to develop some ideas I would like to do or is a good idea to do for an advert. The first idea I had was a perfume/cologne either for men or woman. I also wanted to do an advert of headphones or bluetooth speakers because it is something I have laying around. I then thought of making a advert of food for example a crisp packet. I came up with this magnificent idea because it is something you do not see everyday and not everyone challenges themselves to make a crisp packet or any type of food advert and I wanted to because it is hard and I wanted take that risk but I decided to stick to my first idea to do the perfume or cologne advert which will be fun and exciting to do.
self evaluation:
This project had too much content and long footage to edit which was very stressful and time consuming. I have edited half of the video and I still have the other half to finish. I finished it past the deadline which was not good and in my opinion I should have calculated my timings to match the deadline and not get behind with work because then it gets accumulated and I forget to do it when I get started with a new project. making this video might have been a tiny bit risky because I was holding a borrowed college camera while walking through dangerous Bradford streets and encountering with scary people and I think I should have done something easier and indoors for this project and less risky. next time I would like to do something similar but much much shorter.
FRI 22 MARCH
I have finished my youtube video. I will upload it by the end of the day because it is 26min and it will take a long time to upload it. I put a lot of time and effort in this project although I was constantly getting ill, but I have managed to finally finish editing all my footage. I hope you enjoy watching my video the same way I did when making it.
For this project I have 3 sections of what I did in a day in college, at the start of the video I have added small clips of the interesting bits of the video because the first few seconds of a video is for the viewers will either keep them engaged or not which makes it the most important step.
