For this shorfilm I was wondering wether to do it in animation or acting. And I really liked the idea of doing animation since its also included in creative media, and for acting I have never tried it, and I’m not a really introvert and confident person, but I do like challenges. So I think trying to put myself in the short film will be a great idea to improve new skills I will be needing if I ever get the chance to do another short film and I will also learn what weaknesses I have that I should improve.
The audience in my short film will be for boys and girls that are interested in action, violence and based on drug dealing. It will be teens starting from the age of 15+. Because I started watching top boy when I was 16.
The title:
For the title I have written the title by hand in notes. Then I used Capcut to edit it and I sped it up to 5x to make it go faster and it went from 60sec to 14sec. I removed any background sound and I added sound of pencil scribbling. The next slide I wrote who presented it, and I didn’t want to write my na,e because it was too place so I had couple of names in mind and my 2 favourites was “Elite House” and “Elite Latina”. I liked “Elite House” the meaning for this name is a group of producers that are Elite. But I stick up with “Elite Latina” because I will be producing this short film all by myself and I’m spanish so I chose “Elite Latina” and I think it really matches the vibe of the short film and I’m happy with it. Lastly I also added some sound of keyboard typing to it.
I had a go on photoshop and playing around trying different ways to do the title. I had some done vertically and others in horizontally with different shades and dimensions and background colours.
Questions:
- Who’s the protagonist? – (Moodi) Woman drug dealer who is the leader of a gang.
- Whats the conflict? – Another gang leader (sully)kidnaps moodis little sister. / a member from moodis gang betrays her and kidnaps moodis little sister.
- Whats the climax? – plot twist of the little sister is that she asked sully to fake kidnap her just to get away from moodi.
Script:
I started to create some test shoots using a cannon camera. At first I was playing with different angles and different buttons to remember how to use it. and I had couple test shots I really liked and in my opinion I might add one of them to the short film.
In this image i got the following equipment in order to film my short film ‘top girl’, this includes headphones for noise reduction and also the tripod to hold the camera straight whilst filming my short film .
IN this second image it is one of my characters called (jamia)thats me, I was wearing the colour black to give the impression to the audience that it gives the vibes of a roadman and also includes the idea of drugs. I was wearing gloves and
IN this third image i had the idea to draw couple of drawings representing the missing girl (leyla).
Furthermore i decided to change my idea to printing three images of the drawing rather then actually drawing them which will take me more time.
for some of recordings i had some help from my bestie (maya) for the camera angles and shots. ty mayaaaaa
In here i was getting the SD card out to import the recordings into onedrive and start editing the footage.
The printings I had them hanging in the walls for a more realistic setting
