TOP BOY: [TV series]
Plot:
I love this show because the plot is about youngsters in that estate where they grew up wanting to be the ‘top boy’ due to the desire to help their family financially, live a better life for themselves, impress somebody or be respected by others.
Characters:
Main characters in top boy is Dushane and Sully. dushane grey up in the summer house and as-well as his on and off best-friend sully they both try to bond their roles as the leaders of the drug trade in Summerhouse and in general to be on top of drug trading.
Jamie is one of my favourites because he built up a strong gang with his best friend ‘Kit’ and also started the ZTs, all to provide for his 2 younger brothers for their education and needs.
Setting:
The setting of top boy is in east London. A affordable place to stay in but dangerous and risky due to gang acid attacks, murders, shootings..etc. But theres also a sweet side of east London where everyones family and they help eachother.
conflict:
The conflict in top boy is all about when losing money or where to get the drugs from.
QUEEN OF THE SOUTH: [TV series]
queen of the south is another series that is also based on drug dealing and gang fights, similar to Top Boy but top boy is made from the british gangs, however Queen of the south is from the Mexican and south america gangs. The series centers around Teresa Mendoza, a poor Mexican woman who becomes wealthy by building a vast drug empire.
the public reviews stats are a 4.8 stars and the top comments I have read is one from a year ago telling us how fascinating the show was and the reviewer “highly recommends” us to watch it. Another reviewer has commented 3weeks ago saying he also “highly recommends this show” and they both explain what they felt and think of the show of a whole which it helps people that are interested to watch it a little resume of the show.
I have been watching Queen Of the South recently and I can agree with all these comments and what I liked about this show is it started with no issues and then it escalated and it influenced me to do the same in my own short film.
GOOD GIRLS: [TV series]
The series Good girls is based on three suburban Michigan mothers, sisters Beth and Annie and Beth’s best friend Ruby, who are each experiencing various financial difficulties. They decide to pull off an unlikely heist, robbing a local supermarket, in order to help mitigate their money problems. Their successful robbery attracts the attention of the store manager after he recognises Annie as one of the robbers, and of gang leader Rio, who was using the supermarket as a front to store and launder counterfeit money. The mothers subsequently find themselves caught in a series of gang heists, debts, secrets, and familial crises.
what I like about this show is how the plot always has a plot twist and it always changes
