The Yorkshire Ripper case was the ultimate crime against women. The police said it was biggest crime investigation there had ever been in the uk, and no police force had ever experienced the high level of pressure that this case had. The people that knew about the Yorkshire Ripper began to believe that the police were never going to catch him.

In 1975, the first murder that he committed was a women that he had brutally beaten around the head and had other horrifying injuries to her body. The women he had done this to was a 28-year-old women called Wilma McCann, when the police found her body she was 150 yards away from the council house where she lived with her 4 children.
