Chord chart<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This is the chord chart for Blue Bossa. It is in C minor for 8 bars and then changes to its relative minor, B flat minor, for 4 bars then going back to C minor for another 4 bars, then repeat. The chords shown at the top are shell voicing\u2019s which are another way to play those chords. I play shell voicing chords in the song Sunny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shell voicing\u2019s is when you play only the root, 3rd and 7th of a chord, which give the chord a very jazzy feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make our setlist we took into consideration of how each song feels. We decided to switch it up every song, going from a slower type of feel to a more up beat meaning there would be long periods of everyone falling asleep and then getting jumped awake by a faster tune. I like that we left the Christmas ones until last as they really are the main part for the audience we have since it’ll be close to Christmas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7th and 9th chords:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

[1] 7th and 9th chords are commonly used in Jazz because it makes the harmony ‘rich and complex, featuring a mix of chords including, major and minor sevenths chords, ninth chords and extended chords. This harmonic complexity gives the tune a rich and sophisticated sound, and it also provides a lot of opportunities for improvisation.’<\/p>\n\n\n\n
