garage band demo of verse

Here is a demo track I made to try and figure out an idea of how I would like it to sound. I used garage band on my phone to record the different parts. I started off by recording the acoustic guitar, in my Tiktoks its the melody of the first one I did. I then added a bassline using the acoustic guitar as I didn’t have a bass on me at the time. Then I added the main melody on guitar and piano as well as adding the chords on piano as well. Since I did it on my phone it was hard to edit so when the piano comes in it is out of time, but I did this to experiment with how it could sound, with different melodies and basslines etc.

first take

this is the first take of the song, it sounded good but it didn’t flow right and when we added a drum it didn’t fit right to the drum, so i rerecorded it to a drum beat. I recorded it into logic itself using the interface, however when i actually record i will be using a mic.

logic demo of song structure

This just shows the structure of the song and will help when i actually record it. The blue parts are the sections i have done on an actual instrument and so the green parts are what needs to be done on interments instead of MIDI.

Logic demo of song

This demo is to start structuring the song and seeing how the layers would come together. It is not the whole song as I’m still working on the end. I did this so that i could prepare for the actual recording so that i know what to record first.

full structure

I started off by recording the quiet section by playing the guitar, it sounded quite weird from a very loud section to a quiet section so i kept the bass playing. I wanted there to be a smaller build up and so added the piano melody from before and also added a little bass riff which i think sounds really good. Then for the end i brought everything back in again and i will have repeated vocals over the top.

logic demo song 2

In this demo the end still isn’t perfect however the end will be different when i actually record it so it doesn’t matter too much.
