[1] “Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of small and/or large-scale personal or corporate events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, weddings, formal parties, concerts, or conventions. It involves studying the brand, identifying its target audience, devising the event concept, and coordinating the technical aspects before actually launching the event.”
[1] ‘Event management includes bookings a venue, setting up marketing channels, setting a timeline, planning door staff and and security, following health and safety protocol, sorting out pricing and ticketing and checking if there are any curfew or license concerns.’
My role:
For our event management, I am Event manager/director. This means i sort out all of the planning and organising.
[2] “Event managers plan and organise promotional, business and social events. They’re responsible for running a range of events, ensuring the target audience is engaged and the message of the event is marketed properly. Events play a huge part in the success of a brand or an organisation.
As an event manager, you’ll organise conferences, seminars and exhibitions, as well as parties and corporate incentive trips.
You’ll manage the whole process from the planning stage, right through to running the event and carrying out the post-event evaluation. The role is primarily hands-on and often involves working as part of a team.”
Obviously my role as event manager is mainly focused on the live showcase, making sure the concept/theme has been decided, the venue (date and time) has been set, that there will be an audience, a budget and all the equipment we need is all set (sound, lighting, instruments), ill have to figure out logistics, organisation and a schedule as well as promotion, marketing and branding. I will also have to look into health and safety, make sure everything is super safe. I’ll have to looks into contracts and laws as well.
