For our first song we did a really good job. The intro was good with no mistakes and everyone came in at the right time. My solo was mostly good, there were a few things hat could have gone better as I did play a few mistakes. Everyone did a good job at comping on the song which really makes it sound professional. The ending was also good except for the fact Albert kept playing at the end. Altogether the song was really good.
Blue Bossa’s intro could have been slightly better, someone must have played the wrong chord because it sounds slightly wrong. The head was good, my practice paid off as i didn’t make any mistakes playing it. All of the solo’s were really good and worked really well as well as the comping. The change to the bass solo was really good too. We also got the ending spot on. I feel if i got the chance to do it again I would spend a bit more time working on my solo.
Al Blue’s intro is good, Ollie got the tempo really well which he had been struggling. The head is also goof, there were a few times someone played the wrong note which didn’t sound good as it clashed. I feel like my solo could have definitely been better but I was struggling for ideas and had somehow forgot what I usually played for that solo. The other solo’s were really good however i do feel like my guitar should have been turned down slightly for the comping. The ending is also good and we all knew what we were doing.
I feel like I started off Boogaloo Joe really well and did an alright job at the head, I wish i had practiced it some more before the performance though as a few things could have been improved such as playing a few wrong notes. My solo wasn’t too bad however could have definitely been better. The lead into the drum and bass break could have been improved as it was a bit messy. The end also went on longer than usual and so we all were struggling to figure out when the ending was but we managed to pull in off. That sound definitely could have been better as a whole.
Sunny on a whole was really good. The intro and head was really good, all in time and very fluent and smooth. All of the solo’s were really good too and fit the vibe and feel of the song which is good. The ending was also spot on with everyone finishing at the same time which is really good.
White Christmas’s intro and head was really nice and I think the audience really like this one as it was one they knew and they sang along and even danced. My solo was good and fit the groove of the song really well. The ending was also really good.
The intro to Last Christmas could have definitely been better as it started off a bit slow on not together at all. The heads were all good and had the audience singing. The comping underneath the solo’s were are really good as well as the solo’s themself. The end wasn’t too good as Ollie just stopped playing when the bass solo was which put everyone off.
Overall the set was mostly good and it felt like the audience really enjoyed it. It felt like we all had a massive impact on the old people’s time and they all tried dancing and singing a long which is really nice to see.
