We all had a role each. Leon was floor manager, Kenzie was director and Shumona was vision mixer. For this project we wanted to perform ourselves instead of getting actors because we wanted to do what we thought would be best. Because during the recording myself and Meher couldn’t get behind the camera we took on a lot of the roles off screen. For example, we both wrote the script for the first part, the questions in the second section and the song in the third section. I also edited the whole project together using iMovie as I was most confident with that software.
The introduction sequence was edited by Leon using VideoStar. I created the music using GarageBand and then added vocals announcing the show which I edited to make it seem like it was in front of an audience.

We start the show by recording in the TV Studio. This is the first part of the show where the hosts do a little introduction and then go sit down and discuss questions that the audience has asked them.
We start by standing up because after watching a few talkshows we found that most start with the host standing up and then goes into them going to sit down to talk. When sitting down we used the visual mixer to cut between the cameras on set so when one of the hosts were talking we could turn the camera onto them so then the audiences focus would shift.
While watching these shows we also found that they usually have live studio audiences, which we didn’t have access to. To get around this issue I downloaded applause clips off BBC Sound Effects which is a wide catalog of royalty-free sound effects and then added them into the show using iMovie.

I also realised that the audio on the recording was a little quiet, so I turned up the audio to make it seem normal.

What are your thoughts on Bradford winning city of culture 2025?
A question from Laura In Thorton
What would you change personally about the city of Bradford because I would add more shops in the broadway.

For the second part of the show, we filmed a collection of interviews in the street. We asked them all the same questions, this way we could stitch together the questions in the edit to make it more easy to watch.
Questions
Question 1 : How Homely is Bradford to you?
Question 2 : What does Bradford mean to you?
Question 3 : What has Bradford done for you?
Question : what do you think of the culture of Bradford
Question 5: What attractions would you want to see in Bradford’?
Question 6: What improvements can be made to Bradford?
Question 7: What do you think of the council , what changes could they do?
Question 8 : What Food places would you suggest to the audience to go to in Bradford?
Question 9 : What is one thing you would change about Bradford?
I edited the video on iMovie because I am most familiar on how to use it.

I would start each question with one of the hosts saying the question and then cut us asking the question out so it would flow easy. This would make it easier for the audience to consume the content as you wouldn’t hear us asking the questions every time.
I also realised that we missed a few things while recording. To fix the missing parts I added narration over the edit.

To get the best audio quality I recorded the narrations on GarageBand. I used the Fuzz Vocal filter and turned off the Fuzz effect which sounded the best.

For the third part of the show, we performed a song that we recorded using GarageBand.
For this section we changed the backdrop by replacing the black curtain with a white one and then turning the lights purple. This made the set change into something more suitable for live music.
We used the cameras to switch between 3 scenes. One scene of both myself and Meher, another one of just Meher and then one of just me. This made it so the audience knew which one of us was performing at that time.
We connected a laptop to the speakers inside of the studio so we could hear the song itself and then perform alongside it. This laptop was also connected the the control computer so the recording could also hear the song while also being able to hear our microphones.
The ending credits were also edited by Leon. We used the music from the opening sequence for the credits which was something familiar so the audience gets used to it and whenever they would hear it in the future they would know that it’s the Bradford TV theme song.
Here is the final product of the show.
Reflection
The first thing I would change is the quality. The video was exported in 720p which made the video look a lot less professional. I would rather have exported it in 1080p to make it look better.
The music section at the end could have been improved. I feel like this was a very weak section of the show and lost the audiences attention because of how it wasn’t very entertaining. I would have planned more before we actually ended up doing it to make sure it went better during filming.
I would’ve also done a soundcheck before filming because during the first section the mics were too quiet and I had to change the sound level in iMovie.
With the applause effects I would have turned them down slightly. They are too loud which makes them don’t sound as legit.
I confirm that the attached assessment is all my own work and does not include any work completed by anyone other than myself and sources have been appropriately referenced.
