What is the product:

4D Lion Fish Puzzle. A children’s toy like this would go for about £2 to £5, however if you advertise it as a adult’s puzzle instead of a children’s toy you learn that adults would pay from £20 to about £30 for the same product, which shows how you advertise it affects the success of the product. For my advert instead of being a children’s toy, it would instead be advertised as a collectable figure for adults, seniors and families. This will make it seem not only more mature but depending on rarity and limited versions of the product they would go for a lot more money. Could also advertise it as a hobby on how you could collect many different types of fish and then assemble and showcase them. People may put these together with either friends, family or by themselves and then can showcase them off for people to see on their shelves, coffee tables, toilets and many other things. 

Which social media platform will my advert play on? And why:

I would advertise on TikTok, snapchat, Facebook and Instagram stories. TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram would be used to target teens, young adults and adults. Facebook would be used to display our product to the older generation, which would be adults and the elderly.

This shoe advert is a good example of how to advertise on social media. Social media adverts are usually simplistic and more relaxed than adverts on TV for example. This sort of advert would be how I would advertise our product as it is more pleasing for the consumer to view and makes it look higher class than it is.

What messages will my advert be communicating to the audience? 

That the product isn’t just a child’s toy and it is actually entertainment for anyone any age and a collection of collectable figures you can put together yourself.

How I plan to use video and sound techniques to communicate these messages to my audience

I saw these types of minimalist adverts and I thought this would be the perfect type advert for this product.

This advert is short, simplistic and easy to understand. This advert would be directed towards people between the ages 18-40 because this type of product, a newly designed wallet, would be something they would actually buy. The reason it would appeal to this age group is how minimal and to the point it is, as people theses ages prefer content which is short and easily consumed. We have seen this is the way this age group consume content from the success of TikTok which is a social network with 60 second videos you can quickly and easily scroll through.

This advert is quite similar to the previous one, it is short, simplistic and easy to understand. The advert is directed towards children/pre-teens. The product is a pen that you use to draw around a tablet, which is when the tablet responds to the pen and changes the screen depending on what is drawn. The advert just shows the product in action instead of explaining it as children would not understand the advert if it was too complicated, and therefore would not purchase the product. Instead of the advert being minimal to appeal to older generations preferred content consumption, it is more simple to make sure the children watching understand the product and then purchase it.

These types of adverts are simple and modern which would work very well with this product. This would make it easier for the average consumer to understand, whatever age.

Others went for more of an advert for a children’s product, I just thought I would go in a different direction than the others to give my advert a unique feel while also giving the product a chance to be something more than a toy for children.

Advert Ideas

Show it as something you can put together with family and friends for decoration rather than the obvious choice of marketing it to children. Instead of the advert being fast paced and simply childlike to show that it is a product for children, it would be a lot more chilled out while still holding your attention. Narrating vocals will be somewhat like children’s advertising voices however dulled down more and will speak how instead of this just being a children’s toy it is instead a collectable figure which you could assemble with a loved one, friends, family or alone. However on the advert there will not be many vocals. The advert will mostly be shown on stories such as on Instagram and Snapchat therefore the dimensions should be 1080px by 1920px.
