Reflection

Research

First of all I researched what the “City of Culture” title actually meant for Bradford. After thoroughly reading the Wikipedia article about it, I learned about how the city throws events of celebration for the whole year and is given a large sum of money to fund both the events and for future projects the city may have. This helped me come to the conclusion that Bradford will have the perfect amount of money to implement electric bikes and scooters.

I then researched the electric bikes and scooters in other cities to get a estimation on how it could be used in Bradford.

To improve my research, I could’ve made notes of the research I made so I could remember all the information I had learned. I would also liked to have researched more about the electric bikes and scooters, such as the price of implementing them and how successful they have been in other cities.

Context

The theme of my pitch was convenience, but equally about health. I explained the convenience section of my vlog very well by talking about how simple, cheap and accessible the electric bikes and scooters are. Although, I feel like I could have added more information about the health aspect of my vlog as there is a lot more to say about health and I only brushed the surface of what I could’ve said.

Practical

The quality and audio of my vlog was excellent. It was exported in 1080p from my iPhone and because of how I was close enough for the mic to pick up my voice whilst also being in shot made for great audio on the video. The video was a shot of me in the centre of the video with my bedroom in the background. Throughout the video there is cuts of me in Bradford showing busy bus stops and one shot of a sign that says “Clean Air Zone”. The shot was perfectly framed so it had me in the centre.

One thing I would change would be the lighting. I would rather have used a lighting unit such as a ring light instead of light off my computer.

Evaluation

I think overall the vlog was very well put together and I feel I achieved expressing some of my thoughts on implementing electric bikes and scooters. I feel like I could have shared more of my ideas about how this would actually be used within Bradford.

If I was to change anything I would have added a more information and made the video longer. I think my video stood out among the others because of the editing.

I’ve been wanting to see these electric bikes and scooters in Bradford for a long time and ever since this project I am even more interested than ever in having these in and around the city.

I didn’t get much feedback on the video but out of the feedback I did get it was mostly positive. Next time, I would much rather have some constructive critism.
