My original song choice for my final project was a track called so high, this track for me represented the lifestyle I wanted to portray to my audience and allowed me to plan out specific locations that would match the lyrics of the song. After writing and perfecting the lyrics I decided to get it recorded in the Bradford College music studio. Once mixed, the tune sounded good enough to stop focusing on the music element and more on the production side of the project. I soon realised that I hit a wall whilst planning my location as the lyrics in the song didn’t really represent my city furthermore there was no link to my roots. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whilst trying to link my lyrics and location I quickly came to the realization that if I wanted to represent my hometown I needed something more relevant and close to home and the only way to do this was to change the song. The new song that I chose fell under the baseline genre of rap as baseline is the most famous genre in Bradford. The biggest rapping artists from this city do baseline rap and I really wanted to connect with my target audience through this genre as it is the most relevant and understood form of music were I am from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
