Podcast

The reason I have chosen this format is because people tend to get busy with other daily tasks such as work or maybe cooking. Podcasts are highly promoted due to celebrities creating them for their fanbases to listen to. For example I listen to podcast on topics that I find interesting such as: Comedy, Adventure and music. The reason I find them useful and accessible is because they are really easy to access all you have to do is turn on your phone and press play where as a story book you have to interact with it so I would prefer the easier option. Some people become familiar with the creators of their favorite podcasts and will follow and listen to all of their new work which has dropped.

Up until 20 years ago very few people had ever heard of a podcast. Research suggests there are over 2.4 million podcasts we can listen to and we can do this on a range of digital platforms such as YouTube and Spotify. This industry is growing rapidly with hundreds of new podcasts being made every day. (Smith R 2022)

All you need to access a podcast is a smartphone or laptop with an internet connection and you can search for a podcast on absolutely anything. Another bonus to this is most are them are free. Podcast don’t have to follow sets of rules like television and radio do as they are not regulated by the likes of OFCOM. (Mclean M 2024)

Audience- My audience will be people the age of 16-19. The reason why I am going for this target audience is because I want something the younger generation can read instead of reading older novels which might bore them.

I also made it more enjoyable to follow along the storyline this is important because I need something to hook the reader in and keep them interested.

Also due to their being some violence and romance involved i will have to tone down the book so it does not come off as 18 plus.

Sadie- Ex bounty hunter wanting to rule to solar system

Cosmo- Once a great scientist turned into a dog.

Rusty- government spy living a hunted life.

The podcast above is about space and its examination of the past, present and future it then goes onto to tell us the story is about brave individuals who wanted to push the frontier forward.

Ratings and statistics- Constellations a whooping total of 63 ratings which is really good for a podcast which came out back in 2018 here are the ratings.

As you can see the customers have rated the podcast a 4.7 out of 5. The reason for this is currently unknown but looking at the current reviews which most are 5 star reviews.

TiannaL 1 says the podcast makes the topic more interesting to catch on and follow along. Where as MiiMee with a 4 star reviews says she wishes the episodes would become more shorter.

This is seen as a positive and negative to the podcast which the word for that is mixed both sides have these thoughts and feelings. For example a person new to listening to podcasts could have a look at these reviews and be deterred from a podcast.

PLOT

The crimes of Grindelwald is about bad guy Gellert Grindelwald wanting to raise an army of wizards to rule the world. Now bring in the 4 main characters who are on a journey to stop the main bad guy and his accomplices from causing trouble.

Links- The movie is linked to the world war due to it having similar contrast for example the nazi leader wanting to make an army of nazi solider because he though he was better than the jews compared to the movies bad guy Gellert Grindelwald wanting to raise n army of wizards as I have mentioned to rule the world over non-magical beings.

CHARACTER-

Newt Scamander- Introverted British wizard and magizoologist as well as being a member of the Hogwarts Hufflepuff House.

Scamander is the main character on the fantastic beasts books and movies and is the main one who is always dipping their feet into trouble therefore trying to fix it and revert stuff to normal.

Also he cares about magical animals a lot and captures them to try and preserve their life and give them a chance at a better one. Newt also cares a lot about other people and most of the time try’s to bring people together instead of watching them fall apart overall marking him as one of the good guys.

Tina Goldstein- Grounded, down-to-earth witch and former Auror employed by MACUSA.

Tina is Newt’s “love interest” and partner throughout most of the movies, helping him by using her magic powers to try and stop and save credence.

Tina’s connection to the boy Credence is shown to us through the movies they were brought together due to her saving him from his abusive mother who was hitting Credence with a belt.

Jacob Kowalski- Brave first World War veteran, a genial No-Maj and a talented and creative aspiring baker.

Jacob is just an ordinary guy who wants to be a popular baker he runs into Newt when their suitcases are swapped. At the end of the movie Where To Find Them, he was given money by Newt to start a bakery but Queenie wantedto marry Jacob but non-magical and magical people cannot get married it is against the law. Jacob is seen as a foil character for the magical people as later on in the movie series he is granted a wand and joins the cuase to stop Grindelwald.

Queenie Goldstein- Tinas younger sister and roommate and a skilled legilimens.

Queenie is character who sulks when she does not get her own way like a child to be exact, As mentioned when Jacob refuses her marriage proposal she is taken aback by this and joins Grindelwald but later on in Secrets Of Dumbledore she joins Newt’s side again and they marry in Jacob’s bakery in New York.

Mary Lou Barebone- Fanatical No-Maj campaigner against wizardry.

Mary’s character is shown to us as abusive towards the boy Credence whom she doesn’t know is magical, her last straw was in Where To Find Them when Credence uses his magic to kill her.

Credence Barebone- Secret Obscurus wizard and troubled son on Mary Lou Barebone.

Credence is the type of character who is easily manipulated by Grindelwald in his quest for power telling us that his real name is Aurelius Dumbledore. and that his brother seeks to destroy him causing him to believe him and use his magic for the worst. I say his character brings of a sense of insecurity as at birth he was abandoned by his birth sister of a boat which he was then rescued by his abusive adoptive mother.

Gellert Grindelwald- Infamous, powerful dark wizard who caused mass violence.

The character is portrayed by celebrity Johnny Depp and brings a vibe of terror to the audience when watching the movie series as his power is something not to be messed with.
