The 4 P’s of storytelling are

  1. People- the people of my story are Sadie an ex bounty hunter who was betrayed by her closet friend, Cosmo a great scientist who messed up a experiment and now is a dog for the rest of his life and Rusty a government robot spy.
  2. Places- The place is a planet called Vex it is an ice cold place it is home to over 2 million people.
  3. Purpose- The purpose is Sadie starts off as a good character and descends into madness and becomes the bad guy having this allows me to set the story up a lot easier because having a good character all the way through is overrated.
  4. Plot- The plot is Sadie was once an bounty hunter but got bored of the job and left it in hope of finding a new place but now wants to overthrow the government and rule the solar system but to do this she needs the help of her companions especially Rusty Sadie has something planned for him.

The reason why storytelling is important is because:

Facts will be forgotten, but stories that incorporate facts and information will have a greater effect on listeners and therefore are more likely to be remembered. Stories make people want to listen, by taking an abstract theory and turning it into a story with an emotional plot.

The three C’s of storytelling are

  1. Conflict- In chapter 2 we are introduced to one of the main antagonists Carlos who Rusty kills due to PTSD and Carlos holding Rusty’s family hostage which are killed later on but not mentioned as much.
  2. Characters- Each character has their own sick and twisted past which makes them who they are in the story. Having these pasts will draw readers in and want to explore more about the characters.
  3. Climax- At the end of the story after a murder spree of government agents Rusty re-awakens to find Sadie sitting upon the throne laughing and howling he then calls her a monster then Sadie pierces through his stomach, claiming his heart and crushing it getting the item she wanted which was inside of Rusty’s heart.

The 3 benefit’s of storytelling are

  1. Encourages active behaviour.
  2. Increases verbal proficiency.
  3. Encourages the use of imagination and creativity.

What is the psychology of story telling?

Through stories, we share passions, sadness, hardships, and joys. We share meaning and purpose. Stories are the common ground that allows people to communicate, overcoming our defense and our differences. Stories allow us to understand ourselves better and to find our commonality with others.
