FMP Production

The day I chose to record my FMP was on the 9th of May because it was a Wednesday and that is my day off from college so I thought that would be a good time to film it. The house was empty that day, so it was me by myself recording my project.

Problem solving.

During my project I came across multiple problems during my project and I needed to get past these problems in order to produce to a good quality video.

My first problem during the project was that kitchens lighting was not very perfect and when I did a practice recording with the light switched on and when I started the practice recording, I found out that the lighting was really bright on the camera. At first, I thought it was something to do with the camera settings, so I checked through all of the camera’s settings but to no avail it was not the cameras fault it was the lightings. So, to counter this I turned off the kitchen light since it was daytime and bright outside, I opened the blinds a bit to let some natural lighting in and that did the trick. I went back to the test recording and the lighting was now perfect on the camera. My second problem during the project has to do with the audio of the recording. So, when I was doing my first shoot for my FMP, I thought everything went smoothly until after I finished the first shoot, I found out the audio sounded somewhat distorted it sounded out of place.

To get around this I made sure the microphone was attached to the camera properly and made sure the lead was plugged in correctly and after that I tried recording again for a second time and this time the audio sounded perfectly.

A third problem that showed up in my project was my talking skills in front of a camera. What I mean by this is that I tend to mess up my words while recording and being sat in front of a camera I have been like this ever since I was 5 years old, but this is something I couldn’t just cast aside this was my college work. So, to combat this I had to gather some self-confidence and at the end of it I had my work done and recorded.
