Task 3 Production Research

On this page I will be researching the different type of elements within production.

Types of recordings- In this topic I will be going over the different type of recordings during film making. This is crucial because you want the right audio levels and not the wrong levels because if you have the wrong levels then your audio will be choppy and not be nice to listen to.

The video above by DSLRguide talks about the different types of sound effects people can add in to their movies.

The way this can benefit me is by teaching me to use other sounds around me to create ambient noise such as people chattering, animals making noise, vehicles moving, items dropping and more.

Another way it can benefit me is by teaching me the proper ways to use recording equipment such as setting audio levels properly.

The way I can improvise sound in my recording is by for example if I wanted to to add a crunching sound I could use leafs and have someone to stand on them repeatedly which then I could record then edit into the documentary.

Type Of Microphones- Choosing the right microphone is very important because it varies on the environment you are in and what noise cancelation you want.

Dynamic Microphones- They are know as the “workhorses” of the microphone world which means they are most used for example like:

gaming

commentary videos

livestreams

podcasts

They are also most relatively cheap, durable and sound amazing and is the most common source for recording.

large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone- They are the first thing that comes to mind when you think of studio recording microphone.

Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphones- It is loosely defined as a condenser microphone, they are useful tools in the studio and live sound environments. Most regularly seen to close-mic instruments and as distant/room mics.

Different types of veganism- Recently I have found out that there are different types of veganism around the world here are some I have found out and researched about.

  1. Lacto-ovo-vegetarians- They eat both dairy products and eggs; this is apparently the most common vegan diet. Lacto-ovo-vegetarians eat dairy products but avoid eggs. Ovo-vegetarians eat eggs and dairy products.
