To begin with, the way I came up with the idea for my FMP is by creating a mood board and labeling all my ideas on them for example some of them are: Soft Drink Review, Vlogging and Cooking. The one that sat well with me is Soft Drink Review. The reason why I chose this one is because of how fizzy drinks taste and how they have been a big part of my life since I was young.
Looking into my project I wanted to carry it out as a single test and not a group taste test this is because other students at the time were busy with their FMP’S and this would have been more difficult for me as i would have had to prepare more drinks for the taste test.
Irn-Bru was developed in Scotland in the 1800’s (Boyd C 2024)
Dr.Pepper was invented in 1885 in Waco, Texas by Charles Alderton (Bellis M 2019) Interestingly Alderton was a pharmacist as was John Stith Pemberton who made Coca Cola and sold it as a medicine. (Britannica 2024)
For my location of recording my FMP I have decided to do it in the kitchen this is because there was no echo inside of the room which made the recording better in sound. If I have had chosen to go somewhere else besides my kitchen the audio may have differed. Another reason why I decided to record in my kitchen is because I liked my drinks chilled and that’s where my refrigerator is.
One if the drink I had taste tested was Irn Bru. This drink has a special place in my heart from when I was 5 years old all the way to 18 years old.
Founded in Falkirk, by Robert Barr in 1875 Irn Bru was initially sold as an “aerated water”. In 1901 he launched it under the name “Strachan’s Brew”. (Sophie, 2024)
The flavour of Iron Bru has been a mystery for quite some time now and people what does Iron Bru taste like exactly? Well Iron Bru’s flavour is often described as sweet and tangy in its secret formula it contains 32 different ingredients such as: orange, pineapple and spices. (Boyd C 2024).
