L3 Health and Safety

Risks of doing live performances

Loose wires, could cause tripping. could be solved by duck taping them down or putting them somewhere out if the way like under the stage.

Volume. If the volume is at a high level, it could affect the artist/staff/crowds hearing over a period of time. To prevent this, the sound engineers could make sure that the sound isn’t too high throughout the performance

Overcrowding. The venue can not exceed the mac capacity otherwise it will potentially cause crushing and or potential violence. A way to prevent this is only sell the right amount of tickets

pyrotechnics. We have to make sure that all pyrotechnics that are used are used safely and are under control We also have to make sure that the lights that are used are not too brings as it can be uncomfortable for players especially that singer.

Water near equipment. Pretty self explanatory, water shouldn’t be neat the electrical equipment especially drinks without lids on them such as cans. This can damage the equipment if spilled and even cause a fire or electrocute people in some circumstances

Working at heights. This is dangerous if you have no experience. this could result in falling or dropping equipment. to prevent this make sure whatever you’re holding or whatever is holding you, is secure and safe.

When we do the live performance we will have to take into consideration the small space we have to work with. We will have to make sure that all wires/loose pieces of equipment are out of the way.

Crowd Control. We need to make sure that the crowd doesn’t get too “rowdy”. there needs to be enough space and there should be people on site who can control people in an event of an incident.

The travis Scott performance was the place where there was a major incident. people were crushed in the crowd due to overcrowding and no care taken for the whole crowd. This could have been prevented by keeping the limit on tickets and making sure the tickets don’t exceed the max capacity of the area in which the concert was held.

There should have bee more care from travis himself as well as his team.

There were too many people for a not big enough area.
