Evaluation
- From the feedback I got for my presentation I need to take into consideration some reference tracks for my mixing process and how I want the song to sound as a finished product. I did some research into songs that I took inspiration from and. want to go for the sort of vibe from “99 Problems” – Jay-Z in the sense of how the drums stand out within the track while listening to the instrumental.
- I also need to take into consideration the writing process and I think I need to be careful with what I say and how I say somethings within the track. I was thinking of making two versions with one having the bad language I plan to use censored. I will do this by “spinning the words back” in post production.
- Overall I need to make sure I produce the track at the level of what I want and that I have time to record everything as it can take me a while to get everything the way I want it and what I deem “good enough”. I think I will take breaks with what I do so I don’t get witters/producers block.
- Along the way of the production process I will try to share the instrumental with a few people (at first in stages and then as a finished beat) including peers/staff to get a second opinion and see if there is any feedback that will be useful to me, for example, the drums could be slightly off or something could be out of key. Constructive criticism will be very helpful throughout the process of making this track as if it is just my thoughts throughout the whole process then there may be things missed that could improve it in different ways.
