My final thoughts on the single cover art component of my project are mixed really. I’ll start with the negatives. I was nowhere near as organised and proactive as I should’ve been in order to achieve what I aimed to do. This is evidenced by not working with Paul outside of standard lesson time on a Friday morning, as well as not attempting to contact the technician myself whose help I required to complete the photoshoot. Looking back, it is easy to say I should’ve gone about contacting everybody but I did have a lot on my mind. Still, it is important to consider for next time that I should just get it over with and message people if I need to, it doesn’t take much time and this is one point that I definitely must work on to improve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the positive side of things however, I am pleased with the work I did get done, even if it didn’t quite end the way I expected. When coming up with ideas, I felt that I was quick to think of interesting shots for the cover art and a strong thematic background to use in my projection. Although I didn’t produce many ideas, I was very happy with those that I did. During the lesson time I felt the I stayed on track and worked effectively with Paul, avoiding distractions and getting work done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overall, I would say I am underwhelmed with the lack of end result in regards to the single cover art but I can’t be too aggrieved as there is legitimate reason for this being the case. Prior to that, the work leading up to it and the work done on the projection is something I am content with. I have learnt mostly about my organisational ability and the development of ideas rather than any hard skills but it has been good, and I look forward to improving next time after this experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m not best pleased with the outcome of this aspect of the project, unfortunately. While work was done, I feel that there was much more to be done on my end. I might\u2019ve had the idea and known what I wanted but Paul did the heavy lifting in terms of actually producing the videos for the projection; what I could\u2019ve done is take much more interest in what he was doing so that I could perhaps take over from him and do that work myself. Another issue is that none of the projections I had were even used in the final performance – this is down to me completely. Lewis had mentioned that I was best off making a lengthy version of the twenty second video I had ready, so that he could just play it and not worry about it, I did this and I simply forgot to actually give him the file. Very much an avoidable error but it happened, and left me with a completely different projection on stage. As soon as I got the video rendered I should\u2019ve sent it on MS Teams, rather than waiting and, ultimately, forgetting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, I am pleased with the effectiveness of communication between myself and Paul. I spoke of my ideas and he knew what to do to bring those ideas to life in a short time, my ideas were defined and explained clearly and concisely, as well as being good ideas, if I do say so myself. My main idea for thematically and would\u2019ve been a lovely complement to my performance – had I remembered to send the file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the projections, I don\u2019t have a great deal to say. Beyond talking of effective cooperation and disappointment in the lack of realisation, I don\u2019t have anything else to add in summary. More just thoughts of what could\u2019ve been had it gone to plan.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In both graphical endeavours, I had a good start but for various reasons, none of what I worked on came to fruition. This is really quite frustrating but I am fortunate that it wasn\u2019t critical to my overall project. I believe the work I did complete, both by myself and alongside Paul, was of a good standard so I can\u2019t complain about any of that. What I can be unhappy with is the final execution, a silly mistake meant hours of work just never saw the light of day. I won\u2019t forget about this and it will definitely be in my mind when considering what graphical work I\u2019ll be needing next year. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
