MBTI

Whilst I find these personality tests rather trivial (I don’t believe we can categorise all humans into 16 cute little boxes), it can give some interesting little points on occasion. Below are the three personality tests which apparently suit who I am, even though I feel there is much overlap between each type and each person taking the test.

ENFJ – The Teacher

VERY GOOD MATCH

ENFJs are idealist organisers, driven to implement their vision of what is best for humanity. They often act as catalysts for human growth because of their ability to see potential in other people and their charisma in leading others.

ENFP – The Champion

VERY GOOD MATCH

ENFPs are people-centered creators with a focus on possibilities and a contagious enthusiasm for new ideas, people and activities. Energetic, warm, and passionate, ENFPs love to help other people explore their creative potential.

INFJ – The Counsellor

VERY GOOD MATCH

INFJs are creative nurturers with a strong sense of personal integrity and a drive to help others realise their potential. Creative and dedicated, they have a talent for helping others with original solutions to their personal challenges.

When I have taken this personality test in the past, I quite consistently ended up with INTP, this is the first time, however, I have received even one extroverted type in the top three. I would say this lines up with how I’ve changed over the past couple years, becoming more comfortable within myself and how I fit in in social situations.

A common theme across all three types relates to helping others; as well as mentions of creativity within that. This is true as I do find myself trying to help my friends and, where possible, strangers, as it gives a sense of purpose to a world where purpose can be hard to find. Tying that in with creativity, it could lead to something in the area of music teaching, community sessions, music therapy, and much more. This is something I would be interested in, provided I improve my knowledge of music as a whole.

Another commonality between the three types given is the match of middle letters – “NF”. This tells me that I am more intuitive than sensing, and more feeling than thinking. While intuitive is fair and I can see myself leaning that way, I would disagree that I’m more feeling than thinking; I use logic to guide myself and I also disagree with the idea that logic doesn’t include the emotional arguments in certain debates, as is suggested by the test’s website.
