I originally started with this planning to be a track I had made and bounced in Ableton, but in the process of the mac’s we work on being moved rooms and scattered all over the place after a break-in, my work was unfortunately lost. However, I decided it’d be a good idea to link some of my own work that I’ve done, on FL studio. I did try give Ableton a try but I wasn’t a fan of how the software ran and how less “user friendly” the DAW was in comparison to others that I had become accustomed with.
This is a song that I have made that is uploaded to soundcloud. The song was first made by collaborating with another producer & assisting on the layering of the drums onto the guitar, along with the composition of the song & the overall sound, then adding some nice vocals and topping it off with a clean mix and master. Overall the song took maybe 8-10 hours to make.
My evaluation for this song would be that I did quite a decent job, Ranging from the dynamic elements of mixing instruments to guitar’s and different tones. , I don’t usually go for this style of pop punk with no 808 drums and more of a rock sound. In retrospect I believe I could have improved the song by maybe doing a little more pitch bending on the layered vocals within the song, and potentially making the drums in the song a little louder as it feels at some points they are quite low. My reasoning with using FL studio for this project is because FL is a DAW I’m more comfortable with, after putting hours into Ableton & its production elements I found FL a lot easier to traverse and emulate the type of sound that I wanted without any hiccups.
