13/10/21 – Today I controlled the live sound for the mock performance. I did the sound for the first year level 2 band, Both Lucy and Faith’s solo performances along with one of the second year bands. One of the things to be vigilant of within the live performance is making sure that all of the channels are muted when DI boxed and link cables are being unplugged, and making sure to remember to unmute them afterwards so that everything plays well. One thing that went well today is the solo performances, especially in times where Lucy performed, the reason for this is that she is a very capable and well projecting singer, allowing me to control the levels of the microphones and the audio on the instruments easier. a trouble with having non confident singers is that sometimes you raise the volume and the gain too high, to a point where something starts to feedback or to the point where if they raise their volume even a little bit, the audio becomes too loud. This was an issue within the first year level 2 group with singers not being very confident or tight.
