All of the problems I experienced during the mock rehearsal I did not experience during the final performance all of it was luckily fixed.
I did not feel nervous on stage at all and was confident in what I was doing although my improvisation skills for the HMRC special could’ve been better it was still kind of decent and not that bad. I could’ve moved around the fretboard more instead of staying in the same scale but I did not want to make mistakes so I stuck to the same scale. I could’ve used more repetition in my improvisations as repetition is key and could’ve made the performance much better.
Although I looked like I enjoyed myself I constantly smiled and looked like I enjoyed what I was doing I could’ve still had much better stage presence by moving around more and during the moment where I don’t have anything to play I could’ve art least waved or made the audience clap or engage with the band in someway.
In the beginning of Stand By Me I was supposed to play an opening solo but joseph was playing the wring notes and completely so I did not play it properly and only played a few notes but I don’t think it was that recognisable so it wasn’t much of a big deal or a huge mistake. I played the rest of the song no problem as it is a really easy song to play so easy to the point I was kind of bored during the times I didn’t have anything to play. Which I could’ve improvised but I didn’t do that during the rehearsals and if I did now I could’ve confused the band with the structure or simply play really bad and out of key notes so I didn’t risk it.
When we moved onto the rap song me and Marcel have now planned the ending of his last verse so we weren’t really worried about doing anything wrong. neither of us forgot our lyrics and we both looked like we were enjoying ourselves. We again could’ve had much better stage presence by making the audience engage with by clapping or making them sing the chorus with us at the end of the song.
Overall it was a decent performance nothing too special. I have very mixed feelings about this performance as there are things I liked and things I didn’t
I would do it again if I got to perform songs I am more into.
