This project has been incredibly fun i have learnt a lot of new things my opinions and views on HipHop and samples have changed i thought it was going to be a little bit boring however i think i found another new way to express art. Its been fun working together on all of the songs definitely quite some pressure on the timing but it was still fun. I would definitely consider doing something similar in the future with the knowledge i have now and maybe adding some different things to the tracks to really spice it up.
I have learnt a lot of new things on the drums with Simon i think my drumming has improved by a lot since i started this course and i would love to show them through some of work in the future if there is a chance. I have come to the realisation that i like all genres of music as long as i can vibe to them and its been great working in a team sharing ideas and trying everything. Although i would love to try working independently and see what i can come up with thats something to consider later on as well.
some of the things i would improve next time are punctuality i saw throughout this course that people are dependant on each other and can get stuck without the other person so that’s very important in order not to slow things down. proper preparation and practice is very Important knowing the structure and knowing how to communicate better on stage without talking is definitely a skill to be learnt in the future.
overall this project has been fun there were some ups and downs where i had doubt in certain things such as copyright which we have not talked about so i must add it here. The track nothing to something and victorious are both samples so uploading them onto Spotify and other platforms could be dangerous as we could potentially be sued we definitely dont want that so the only risk we are taking is uploading it onto YouTube the worst that could happen is that the videos get taken down which doesn’t really bother us as these tracks are simply for our entertainment. Below the song there is going to be a part where is says that all credits go to the actual creator of the beat and we are basically saying that nothing apart from the lyrics is ours. This was the only thing i had doubts about and was still worried but i overcame that as we discussed with some of the teachers and uploading it onto YouTube was the safest bet. Its also unlisted so only people with the link can visit this song.
It was a great experience lots of fun and would definitely consider music again!!!
