Final Performance

This is our final performance there were mixed feelings going on in my body i wanted to nail this performance because there were 150 people and more. Waiting in the backstage knowing we will be on in less than 60 seconds i felt excited. walking onto the drum platform i looked at the crowd and was blinded by the strong spotlight. Nic gave a little speech and introduced us i guess this helped us to get a little bit more comfortable with the crowd. we started off playing very well throughout the song we were focusing on our parts and barely looked at each other however i think we eased up towards the ending of the first song which was great because we were confident. when the song finished we all smiled at the crowd to say thank you as they applaused.

starting of the second song Olivers strap fell which wasn’t planned but we saved it with a laugh and i did a drum beat which was meant to make the crowd laugh which worked a little bit i guess. we started playing and the song went great id say at this point during the song i think everyone was comfortable we were smiling and looking at each other every now and again and really just enjoying the song. i was definitely enjoying my self and felt confident in what i was doing on stage i think the lighting was good everyone was visible and standing in a position where they are seen from all angles. The light helped a bit as it blocked out the crowd but it wasn’t a big deal really as it felt natural when we started playing the crowd got involved and started clapping to some parts of the songs which was really nice and made me feel like they were part of the song and that they liked what we was playing.

After the second song Aimee introduced us all while Oliver took the time to set up his equipment which was great timing we planned to do this during rehearsals one thing i noticed while watching back is when she introduced Isobel and Robert she said on my left which was correct and when she introduced Luke and Oliver she said left again which was meant to be on her right i found it hilarious when watching the video but didnt notice on the actual night while performing so i guess nobody really noticed it but i think it was mainly because she was nervous but it was a good laugh when we watched it back.

After the introduction we went into our final song of the night which was 505 starting off i felt confident as Oliver and Robert were in sync i then knew it was going to go well the further we went into the song the more i enjoyed it. i think we did pretty good on all our songs me and Luke kept looking over at each other and giving a supportive smile to one another which was nice we had a bit of dancing from the guitarists and some movement from Robert playing the bass which made it look tidy and relaxed in my opinion it didnt look like we were glued to the ground which i think is important to look confident and looking like you enjoy it . the crowd ended up clapping for us and i felt good after the show i felt accomplished and all the rehearsals we had were worth it. overall it was mostly positive energy and emotions during and after the show. it was a great experience and then very enjoyable after the show watching everyone else perform and showing support the same way they all did for us.
